Fall Marathon Giveaway: SoftFlask and Gu Care Package

It has been a while since we have had a giveaway, but I thought it might be fun to give away a fall marathon care package for all of you preparing for those fall marathons, half marathons, ultras, or other races.

For a chance to win this marathon care package, which includes one 5 oz SoftFlask, 3 Gu gels, 2 Gu Brews, and 2 Gu Chomps, just follow these two simple steps:

1. "Like" the Hydrapak Facebook page

2. Either comment in the space below or on the Through a Running Lens Facebook page (find the post with the picture of the care package, and in the comments section) telling me your favorite flavor of energy gel.

Remember, you must both "Like" the Hydrapak page and post in the comment section here or on the Through a Running Lens Blog page. One entry per person. Contest ends Friday, September 21, 2012.

  1. The only flavors of GU I can tolerate are chocolate-based, my face being 'Chocolate Outrage' with its little kick of caffeine. I also use and like 'Espresso Love' and Chocolate Raspberry, but the outrage has the least-gross texture- like brownie batter! For some reason I can't edit what I've typed here, sorry about the typos!

  2. Right now, my favorite GU flavor is Vanilla. I also like the Mandarin Orange. Recently on long runs, I try to stick with one flavor for the entire race. Don't know if it makes a difference, but that's what I do. Michelle

  3. My favorite is Chocolate Outrage, especially as the last one before the finish line. It's a boost and a celebration all in one. I also carried my dry clothes for after the Tuesday Lake Lansing Fun Run in my desert camo Hydrapak. The kid that saw me heading for the rest room to change said "Nice suitcase", since I was carrying it by the comfy handle instead of on my back.
