About Me

I am a 54 year old runner living in Citrus Springs, FL. I have been running for 17 years. I love running of all types, but my passion is trail and ultra running. I started this blog to share my thoughts on running and all things running-related and hopefully to open a dialogue with like-minded people.  When I am not running and blogging, I teach college level writing courses.

I have a MA degree in English Composition, and have been teaching college writing for 24 years. I taught for 20 years at California State University, San Bernardino, where I taught upper division writing courses for the School of Natural Sciences. I currently teach English at College of Central Florida.

In terms of running credentials, I have been a runner for 17 years and have raced at distances from 400 meters to 50 miles.  I have attended a Road Runner Club of America (RRCA) Coaching Certification course and am a certified RRCA coach. I have also taken several graduate level courses in physical education. I have taught a jogging/running activity course for the Department of Kinesiology at CSUSB. Besides running, I have also coached and taught swimming.

I am also very proud to be a Marathon Maniacs (#5505).
