I soak it in hot water and laundry detergent overnight. In the morning I scrub it with a toothbrush, rinse it, and let it dry. It seems to do the trick for me. wyldrunner@Through a Running Lenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04986015389913810775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7986710354721256441.post-63872868707598508412013-07-10T00:23:29.522-04:002013-07-10T00:23:29.522-04:00the velcro band starts to smell pretty bad pretty ...the velcro band starts to smell pretty bad pretty quickly....i am thinkin of going back to a standard band.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11014565356035532814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7986710354721256441.post-7211546576561314302012-07-03T22:04:19.365-04:002012-07-03T22:04:19.365-04:00Glad I could help! Make sure you get the pins in tight when you replace these (and be sure to put the tool in a place you can find it again). I did not have my new strap set correctly into the holes on one side and it popped loose while I was running. Thank goodness that I was able to find that little pin on the path at Hawk Island.

Don't forget if you are ordering from Amazon to please click through the link on the site here. It makes a huge difference to me.
